PhD Candidate within Marine Structures

We have a vacancy for a PhD Candidate at the Department of Marine Technology, NTNU, within the area of hull vibrations.

The main topics of the PhD work are global and local vibrations in ship hulls. The sources of such vibrations are hydrodynamic loading and excitation from machinery and propulsion systems. Focus will be on interaction between such global and local vibrations and how these will influence vibration response levels and design layout of secondary equipment which is attached to the hull.

It is anticipated that there will be some interaction with one or more industry suppliers in order to identify relevant scenarios for local response analysis.

The PhD candidate will address fundamental research topics and provide progress reports on a regular basis in agreement with the supervisors
