Postdoctoral position in bacterial protein phosphorylation

The Mijakovic lab at Chalmers SysBio is advertising a postdoctoral position in bacterial protein phosphorylation and signalling. The contract duration is 24 months.

Information about the project
The postdoctoral fellow will be expected to work on protein-tyrosine phosphorylation in the model bacterium Bacillus subtilis. The object of research is the B. subtilis protein-tyrosine kinase PtkA, and the aim of the project is to investigate how this kinase is activated by different protein interactants. The postdoctoral fellow will join a productive interdisciplinary research environment at Chalmers SysBio. Major responsibilities
We are seeking a highly motivated individual, driven by scientific curiosity and capable of driving their own research project independently. The candidate is expected to actively collaborate with other members of the Mijakovic lab. The work will comprise protein biochemistry, genetic engineering, phospho-proteomics and depending on the candidate's preference, can also include computational modeling of cellular regulation involving PtkA.

Your major responsibility as postdoc is to perform your own research in a research group. The position may include teaching on undergraduate and master's levels as well as supervising master's and/or PhD students to a certain extent. Another important aspect involves collaboration within academia and with society at large.
