The TechMed Centre is a leading Innovation Hub impacting healthcare through excellent research, innovation, and educational programs. It is equipped with state-of-the-art infrastructure, ranging from research labs, preclinical testbeds, and simulated hospital environments. TechMed is particularly active in imaging and diagnostics, biorobotics, medical physiology, innovative bioengineering technologies (such as 3D bioprinting techniques and bioartifical pancreas devices), and assessing the effectiveness of personalized health technologies.

Within the faculty of Science and Technology (S&T), the department of Magnetic in Detection & Imaging (MD&I) is centered around two lines: handheld magnetic instruments for clinical applications and clinical MRI. In addition to the general-purpose facilities, MD&I also houses two laboratories: a wet lab and an electromagnetic lab.

 

The challenge

At MD&I, we are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic lab manager with relevant experience to support day-to-day operations, including project support in collaboration with (graduate)students, postdocs, and permanent staff. The main tasks include:

  • Practical hands-on assistance: support researchers in daily experimental work and reporting;
  • Manager MD&I lab: keeping lab operational (availability of equipment/materials);
  • Provide minor IT support for MD&I and act as point-of-contact for IT issues;
  • Safety manager MD&I lab: risk analysis and handling chemicals.

YOUR PROFILE

  • Relevant technical BSc education
  • Understanding of management systems and affinity with ISO and/or GxP
  • Well-organized, precise, and reliable
  • Highly motivated, proactive, accurate, and committed team player
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office and affinity with computers in general
  • Good knowledge of spoken and written English (C1)

You will be offered a full-time employment contract for one year with the intention of a permanent position, which will be evaluated after one year. The terms of employment are in accordance with the Dutch Collective Labour Agreement for Universities (CAO) and include:

  • A starting salary from € 2.920 to € 4.012,- gross per month (salary scale 9 of the CAO), based on relevant work experience;
  • A holiday allowance of 8% of the gross annual salary and a year-end bonus of 8.3%;
  • A minimum of 29 leave days in case of full-time employment;
  • Professional and personal development programs;
  • A solid pension scheme.
