Veterinary Anatomic Pathologist

Karolinska Institutet (KI) is recruiting a veterinary anatomic pathologist to the core facility Unit for Morphological Phenotype Analysis (FENO).

KI is the dominant biomedical research organization in Sweden. Located at three different campuses and affiliated and associated with several hospitals, KI has a strong profile in both clinical and pre-clinical research. Laboratory animals are used by many research groups and new and modern animal facilities have recently been established at two of the campuses.

The FENO core facility
The Unit for Morphological Phenotype Analysis (FENO) was established as a competence and service facility for mouse pathology at KI in 2000. FENO has been instrumental in characterizing many new and important disease models in genetically engineered mice.

The increasing variety of mutant mice as potential models of disease mechanisms makes phenotypic analysis central for adequately describing the changes caused by genetic manipulation. Pathology is a major and integral part of the phenotyping process. The FENO service supports researchers with histopathology expertise and has its own histological laboratory. Advanced staining methods and state-of-the-art microscopes and imaging equipment including slide scanners and spectral fluorescent microscope are available on-site.

Position as Veterinary Pathologist
The KI core facility for morphologic phenotype analysis (FENO) is recruiting a veterinary anatomic pathologist (ECVP/ACVP board certified or –eligible/enrolled in a residency program) with experience and expertise in mouse pathology. The position is placed at the department of Laboratory Medicine, at the South Campus of KI.

Duties and Responsibilities
