Assistant or Associate Professor in Biochemistry, Molecular Cell Biology or a related field

 


The Cellular Protein Chemistry  external link(CPC) section is seeking applications for a permanent faculty member to strengthen and broaden its research focus. You are expected to start or bring an independent but complementary research line, funded mostly by external support.

Your group will complement the research lines in the groups of Ineke Braakman  external linkand Peter van der Sluijs  external link, and Stefan RĂ¼diger  external link. Teaching and administrative duties, fitting with your profile, will be part of the job.

Qualifications

We request you to have a PhD and at least two years of postdoctoral research experience with a strong track record. You will be encouraged to seek funding for new research projects through personal and collaborative, national, European and other international grant opportunities. You also have the ambition to actively participate in teaching activities at both the BSc and MSc level.

Offer

  • a full-time position for five years, which will become permanent upon positive evaluation;
  • a full-time gross salary ranging between €3,746 and €5,826 in scale 11/12 at the level of Assistant or Associate Professor;
  • benefits including 8% holiday bonus and 8.3% end-of-year bonus;

CPC is part of the Bijvoet Centre for Biomolecular Research  external linkand as such the research should be directed at the molecular level. The Bijvoet centre is part of the Faculty of Science  external link and the Science for Life  external link programme of Utrecht University.
