The Helmholtz-Zentrum Berlin (HZB) is operating a variety of laboratories to research materials and energy for a sustainable future. Furthermore, the HZB is running the electron storage ring BESSY II with an extensive user service program.
As sample environment group of the HZB, we develop and run experimental setups for beamline and laboratory based experiments. Our main task is the control of the physical parameters at the sample position like temperature, magnetic or electric field or pressure. Additionally, we support researches at the HZB by developing custom experimental setups.

Now, we are looking for you as a student assistant to help us with the programming of the control software for the different experimental setups.

Your tasks

  • Support the development of our control software (Delphi/LabView) for experimental setups at beamlines and in physics laboratories
  • Documentation of the software
  • Familiarizing yourself with an extensive source code for further development of our software together with senior software engineers

Your profile

  • Very good knowledge of the programming languages Pascal/Delphi or C/C++
  • Good knowledge of the programming language LabView
  • Knowledge of the Windows API
  • Fluent in German and English (oral, written)

Fixed term contract for 6 months. The position is a part-time position with 12 - 19,5 hours a week.
