The Institute promotes interdisciplinary networking of research groups as well as co-operation between groups and national and international partners.
We are now looking for A Doctoral Student in theory of continuously observed quantum matter with superconducting circuits Description of the position
Description of the research unit Superconducting Quantum Simulations and Computing Group is a theoretical and computational physics group in Nano and Molecular Systems Research Unit. The group focuses in phenomena of many-body physics, open quantum systems, and quantum-error correction in arrays of superconducting quantum devices. Research methods combine numerical, analytical and collaborative experimental approaches. The group works towards understanding and accelerating near-future superconducting quantum simulation and quantum computing advances. Recent research highlights are theory of dark logical qubit for superconducting circuits in a waveguide, phase transitions with superconducting transmon arrays and theory of quantum circuit refrigeration based on superconducting-normal-metal hybrid devices. Nano and Molecular Systems Research unit is a highly international research environment formed by 2 professors, 2 associate professors and approximately 40 other researchers. The research of the unit is focused on material science from quantum to molecular level.
Doctoral Student position: The position is to be filled by a highly motivated student. Successful candidate must have completed Master of Science degree in physics or a closely related field with very good/excellent grades latest by the start of the contract. In addition, we appreciate
The selected candidate will carry out her/his doctoral studies within the University of Oulu Graduate School (UniOGS) and must meet the requirements to receive doctoral study rights as defined in: http://www.oulu.fi/uniogs/requirements_for_admission.
