Postdoc Position (f/m/d) | Clinical Neuroscience

The Max Planck Institute for Multidisciplinary Sciences is a leading international research institute of exceptional scientific breadth. With more than 40 research groups and some 1,000 employees from over 50 nations, it is the largest institute of the Max Planck Society.

Clinical Neuroscience (Prof. Dr. Dr. Hannelore Ehrenreich) at the City-Campus invites applications for a position as a Postdoc Position (f/m/d) - Background Bioinformatics, Biostatistics, Biology, Psychology or related fields.

Candidates with a strong commitment to clinical & translational neuroscience and greatest interest in interdisciplinary research are invited to apply. Applicants should hold a PhD degree in bioinformatics or biostatistical sciences or related disciplines. Previous experience in single cell/single nuclei RNA-seq data analyses is prerequisite.

The successful applicant should be fluent in English, have a strong interest in promoting his/her own scientific career in translational neuroscience and in working in a multidisciplinary and international team. We are seeking highly enthusiastic, ambitious and hardworking individuals. Specifically, the applicant would work from the data science perspective on the role of the brain erythropoietin system and hypoxia/hyperoxia for brain plasticity/higher brain functions and its future exploitation for novel treatment strategies in neuropsychiatric diseases. Most projects are essentially ready to go with a large amount of RNA-seq data already acquired. The work is planned in close, ongoing collaboration with Vikas Bansal, PhD, Head of Biomedical Data Science & Machine Learning, German Center for Neurodegenerative Diseases (DZNE)-Tübingen. For more information see for instance the following publications.
