Aalto University School of Business Department of Finance invites applications for

Post Doc researcher in Finance (starting with an up to 2-year fixed-term appointment)

beginning at 1.9.2022 or earlier as per agreement at Aalto University Otaniemi in Espoo, Finland.

The position is located in the Department of Finance and funded by Academy of Finland project Data-Driven Society. The Finance Group is strongly dedicated to research, as shown by a stream of research published in top finance journals. The department is one of the top finance departments in Europe and is equipped with all major commercial Finance databases and hosts several proprietary databases. Requirements

An ideal candidate has a PhD in empirical finance, economics or data science and a desire to work with our strong research group in quantitative finance and asset pricing. The candidate also has strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively communicating complex research issues.

Key tasks of the post doc researcher are expected to be:

• Coordinating and creating (mainly) finance and economics databases and data governance.
• Roughly 50% of working time may be spent on independent scientific research

Exact role can be somewhat tailored based on candidate’s strengths as well as candidate’s long-term career aims.
