Wageningen University & Research is looking to employ a C++ Developer to strengthen its data management infrastructure team. This is a new team because this field is growing. It supports research by providing a total solution for Data Management.

As a C++ developer you work with a research engineer and a devops engineer. where you work together with, among others, the storage and network team. You build software (including microservices) on the iRods platform, so that large amounts of data are optimally stored and transported.

This means that your software ensures:

    • Automatic flow of data from research tools
    • Securing the right metadata requirements
    • Automatic processing of data and performance of Quality Assurance tasks.

We ask

    • Someone with a university-level degree and a background in science;
    • Proven experience with developing (backend) software in large, reliable, distributed environments (5+ years);
    • Experience in development with C/C++, Python and Linux systems;
    • Experience with the storage and transport of large quantities of data;
    • Experience with tooling, such as Git (version control) and Ansible (automatic deployment) is a plus.
You are also:
    • A team player with outstanding communication skills in Dutch and English;
    • Versed in Agile methods, such as Kanban and Scrum;
    • A developer who stands for stable and transferable code.

In addition to these first-rate employee benefits, you will of course receive a good salary. We offer, depending on your experience, a competitive gross salary of between € 3.391,- and € 5.268,- for a full-time working week of 36 hours, in accordance with the CLA Wageningen Research (scale 11).
