The position is initially for 2 years, but can be extended.
The Max Planck Institute for Heart and Lung Research in Bad Nauheim is one of the leading research institutes in the field of biomedical research with a focus on cell biology, stem cell research and pharmacology. The institute comprises four departments, several independent research groups and central scientific service groups. A total of approximately 380 people are currently employed.
We are looking for a technical assistant to help in projects on metabolism and circadian rhythms using in vivo and in vitro heart models.
The scope of duties
- Molecular analysis such as RNA isolation, RT-qPCR, Western blotting and genotyping PCR
- Culturing cells in vitro
- Assisting in animal protocol writing
- Handling and examination of animals (mice)
- Preparation and execution of measurements on mice
- Archiving, assignment and evaluation of measurement data
- Organization of the daily laboratory routine
Your profile
- You have successfully completed training as a BTA/CTA/MTA/biology laboratory technician (f/m/d)
- You ideally have first work experience in the field of molecular biology
- Willingness to work on animal models, ideally with previous experience
- Willing to work in an international team
- Good communication skills in English
