The Opportunity

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology has an opportunity for a Technical Officer to perform a variety of tasks to support the delivery of gynaecological research program outcomes. Supportive tasks include ordering consumables, lab and equipment maintenance, lentiviral labelling primary human cells, small animal monitoring and related administration. 

As the successful candidate you will also be responsible for assisting in preparation of reports and other documentation, looking after the Women’s Health Tissue Bank, preparing samples for shipment to collaborators and maintaining open and effective channels of communication with relevant parties to support and facilitate the management of research objectives. 

The successful applicant will have a degree in a relevant field with subsequent relevant experience, high-level analytical, technical, data analysis and research skills, and demonstrated knowledge in immunofluorescence or immunohistochemistry, particularly knowledge on antibodies and their storage. A high level of computer literacy including experience in learning and adopting new softwares is also advantageous.
