Postdoc in Precision Proteomics Center at the Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF)

The Swiss Institute of Allergy and Asthma Research (SIAF) in Davos, Switzerland, is an academic institute with a long track of discoveries in clinical and basic immunology and allergy. Our institute, associated with the University of Zurich, is dedicated to basic and translational research in the fields of immunology, allergy and asthma. SIAF participates in the Microbiology and Immunology (MIM) and Systems Biology PhD Programs of the Life Sciences Zurich Graduate School.

The successful candidate will be part of the newly established Precision Proteomics Center at SIAF.

Your responsibilities

At the Precision Proteomics Center, we develop and apply cutting edge MS based technologies and analyse clinical samples (body fluids, tissues) as well as cells. We aim to identify new biomarkers and disease mechanisms that contribute to the development of the next generation of personalized treatments. The group has a strong technical expertise in high-throughput proteomics and the analysis of large datasets.
We encourage applicants with an experimental background as well as with a computational background to apply.

Role and area of responsibility
  • Interdisciplinary work at the intersection of immunology, computational biology and analytical chemistry
  • Contribute to the development of MS based high-throughput proteomics technologies
  • Generate large and high-dimensional datasets by measuring large patient cohorts (biofluids, tissues) and/or conduct cell-based screens (CRISPR KOs, stimulated cells)
  • Apply bioinformatic tools such as machine learning or network biology
  • Develop innovative ideas and lead your own projects

Your profile

PhD in basic sciences, proven productivity by publications/patents, experience with R programming/ Python, experience in mass spectrometry (orbitraps, qTOF) and/or in the analysis of omics datasets, experience with machine learning or network biology is a plus, practical experience in immunological or molecular biology techniques is a plus.

What we offer

We offer an interesting job in a new building with state of the art laboratories and equipment, providing an excellent scientific environment and infrastructure, as well as an attractive salary.
