Project Manager in the field of climate change mitigation (Negative Emission Technologies)

 Within this exciting job you support the scientific coordinator of the research project DACStorE - “A Comprehensive Approach to Harnessing the Innovation Potential of Direct Air Capture and Storage for Reaching CO2-Neutrality”. Its goal is to support a successful ramp-up of DACS technology. Besides of conducting science bidirectional exchange with stakeholders who can realize the ramp-up is highly important to reach the project’s goal. The ‘DACStorE-Transformation Hub’ is established to facilitate the needed exchange at the interface of science and the stakeholders. Within the project the „Helmholtz Research School for Negative Emission Technologies“ is founded. Its goal is to optimally prepare young researchers for the interdisciplinary scientific tasks around negative emission technologies. This is achieved by providing a combination of excellent teaching, interdisciplinary collaboration, and industrial insights. With your work you can actively shape the school’s direction and this way greatly contribute to its success. Your tasks in detail:

  • Supporting the scientific coordinator of the project with regards to project management including support at technical interface
  • Assistance in the systematic development and establishment of the ‘DACStorE-Tranformation Hub’ as a central network for negative emission technologies within Germany
  • Administrative coordination of the „Helmholtz Research School for Negative Emission Technologies“
  • Conceptualization, Organization and coordination of innovative analog, hybrid and web-based events for researchers, partners from industry, politics, and the broad society
  • Active support in the development of communication strategies as well as their implementation in concrete measures (e.g., social media, homepage, logo, newsletter, attendance at fairs)

Your Profile:

  • University degree in physics, chemistry or process engineering, ideally with a PhD
  • Experience in project and event management
  • Interest in design and layout
  • Fun while working at the interface with a lot of different insights and perspectives
  • Interest in further developing different topic besides of the projects research focus (e.g., diversity in recruiting, technology transfer, building up a network)
  • Highly independent and proactive way of working with high quality standards
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English
