Research assistant in tumor immunology

 


The Lundqvist/Kiessling research groups offers a creative and inspiring environment filled with expertise and curiosity. Our vision is to contribute to top quality medical research within the field of tumor immunology. We are part of the Department of Oncology-Pathology at BioClinicum, which combines basic, translational, and clinical cancer research in an inspiring environment. We furthermore work closely with the Personalised Cancer Medicine (PCM) program at Karolinska Institutet and the GMP (Good Manufacturing Procedure) laboratory at Cancer Center Karolinska.

Your mission

The position is located at the research laboratory at Bioclinicum and Cancer Center Karolinska in Solna. Your work tasks include collecting patient samples in biobanks and carrying out and evaluating experiments in the form of immunological assays. Interacting with different staff categories and actors under the project manager, including researchers at the Karolinska Institutet, Science for life laboratory, medical doctors, nurses and biomedical analysts. To produce immunotherapy drugs according to GMP standards and perform immunological assays from samples collected from patients enrolled in clinical trials that are ongoing at Karolinska University Hospital, as well as to participate in the pre-clinical development and validation of novel immunotherapy drugs.

Your profile

We seek a qualified biomedical analyst, laboratory engineer, or a doctorate in immunology or cell biology, or equivalent. Applicants must have good social and communicative qualities as well as very good language skills in English in speech and writing. Good IT knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office are required. The applicant must have very good analytical skills as well as good experience in tissue culture and desirable experience in lymphocyte culture techniques. You should also have good knowledge of immunological assays including flow cytometry. The applicant must also have a very good sense of service and appreciate contacts with researchers and clinical staff. A prerequisite for the work is good cooperation skills and a flexible approach. The position makes special demands on the ability to manage and plan the work due to a varying workload within the various operations.
