The Perceiving Systems Department at the Max Planck Institute for Intelligent Systems is seeking a software developer (m/f/d) with a scientific background and a diverse skill set to conduct and support researchers in creating the next generation of photorealistic digital human head models.
Your tasks
Within the Perceiving Systems Department, a group of researchers found a new technology to make computer graphics faster and more realistic. Max Planck Innovation funds this with the goal of spinning off a company. Your role will be to develop a research prototype in tandem with leading machine learning scientists and integrate it into a game engine. You will also get experience with real-life industrial-grade machine-learning products.
Responsibilities may include:
- Generation of photorealistic images/videos
- Develop software to remove jitter from videos, i.e. to stabilize video using optical flow
- Create demos of virtual humans that look and move like real humans
- Integrate neural networks into game engines
Your profile
- A Master’s degree (or above) in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Have experience with 3D models and rendering
- Experience with Python
- Experience with C++ is a plus
- Experience with PyTorch
- Organized, independent, and good communication skills in English
