The Professorship of Regulatory Affairs of the KPM Center for Public Management and the Swiss Institute for Translational and Entrepreneurial Medicine (sitem-insel) searche a Doctoral student Regulation and Management in Health Care.

The Professorship of Regulatory Affairs conducts cutting-edge research on current challenges in the approval and reimbursement of medical technologies and on health care systems. The professorship of Prof. Dr. Rudolf Blankart is embedded in the KPM Center for Public Management of the University of Bern, which is one of the leading centers for policy and administrative sciences in Western Europe. It is tightly connected to the ecosystem of sitem-insel, a transdisciplinary center that promotes translation from idea to commercialization and its Center of Excellence in Decision-Analytic Modeling and Health Economics Research.

Your area of responsibility
As part of your dissertation, you will work on an international collaborative project of the Innovative Medicines Initiative (IMI) that aims to develop new screening technologies for rare diseases. As part of the team, you will build up expert know-how and represent your topic internally and externally, e.g., at international conferences. You actively contribute to the teaching and research activities of the professorship.
You bring with you
A 90 ECTS Master's degree, preferably in law, business, economics or equivalent, a genuine interest in regulatory challenges, qualitative or quantitative methodological skills, experience with data analysis and statistical programs, very good English language skills, a Swiss national language or the ambition to learn one. We highly value work experience in research or consulting.
