The research group "Gastroenterology" in the Department of Biomedicine Basel under guidance of Prof. Jan Niess is looking for a Ph.D student with interest in mucosal immunology. Main focus of our research team are investigations designed to study immune responses to the intestinal microbiota and their products leading to intestinal diseases, such as inflammatory bowel disease. Starting day would be July 2021.
Your position
Planning and design of experiments including mouse experimentation
Carrying out cell isolation from spleen and intestine, flow cytometry, RNA isolation and qPCR, immunohistochemistry and immunofluorescence
Your profile
Master degree in immunology, cell biology, biochemistry or molecular biology,
Experience in a research lab with insights in common immunological techniques and molecular biology
Fluent spoken and written English
