The Department of Medical Cell Biology at Uppsala University is a strong and international research environment. The department has about 100 employees, of which about 25 are doctoral students, 20 postdoctoral fellows, and 30 researchers, teachers and professors.

In the GABA Lab, we study GABA signalling in the brain, pancreatic islets and immune cells.

Duties/Project description: The focus will be on studying how GABA regulates intracellular signalling resulting in altered proliferation and cytokine secretion.  A particular focus will be on how GABA and Ca2+ regulate enzymes, gene expression, intracellular Ca2+ concentrations and cytokine secretion in T cells and subsets of T cells.

Requirements: A PhD and a well-documented experience working with immune cells, GABA and Ca2+ using a variety of techniques.

Desirable / other qualifications: Good knowledge of normal GABA signaling in a variety of cell-types.

Salary: Individual salary.
 
Starting date: 01-09-2021 or as otherwise agreed.

Type of employment: Temporary position until 30-08-2022, or 12 months.
