Postdoctoral Research Fellow - Cancer Center

 


The University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) Cancer Center seeks a Postdoctoral Research Fellow to carry out projects in the field of mechanisms of inflammatory diseases. The research projects will use cell biology, molecular biology, and animal models of lung diseases. Expertise related to these research areas is ideal, but training will be offered. Highly motivated candidates with independency in experimental design, data gathering and analysis, manuscript and grant preparation, as well as strong interpersonal skills are especially encouraged. The position is available now and will remain open until it is filled.

The training environment offers opportunities to collaborate with investigators in different departments and centers at UIC, at nearby University of Chicago and Northwestern University, as well as national and international collaborations. Chicago is home to six medical schools. UIC is a Carnegie Research I University (1 of 4 in Illinois 1 of 161 in the US). The medical school campus is located on the near west side of Chicago, close to downtown Chicago and the Loop. Carry out projects in the field of mechanisms of inflammatory diseases. The research projects will use cell biology, molecular biology, and animal models of lung diseases.

Qualifications: PhD or equivalent degrees and eligible for NIH T32 training grants (permanent resident or US citizen and less than 5 years from obtaining the final degree.
