The division of Energy and Materials hosts a small research group working on material degradation in molten salts. Target technologies for the group are thermal storage and battery applications. The successful candidate will be affiliated within this team.

Besides investigations in molten salts, the division hosts furthermore several high temperature material related activities on, e.g. solid oxide fuel cells, proton conduting structures, nuclear chemistry, computational chemistry and more. 

Major responsibilities
We are searching for a candidate who is able to work on research questions that require inorganic synthesis, material science and analytical techniques. Due to the nature of the anticipated lab work, an educated and safe approach to chemicals and gases is required. Key for the tasks is a fluent communication with supervisors, technical staff and industry partners in person and writing in form of meetings, reports and publications. Industry partner for this project in particular is Umicore in Belgium.

Qualifications
The successful candidate should have:
(1) M. Sc. corresponding to at least 240 higher education credits in Chemistry or equivalent
(2) Confidence and experience in experimental chemistry.
(3) Good communication skills in written and spoken English
(4) Ability to perform structured work in cooporation with the industry partner and technical staff.

Contract terms
Full-time temporary employment. The position is limited to a maximum of 4.5 years.
