This position is part of the Department of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry of Eindhoven University of Technology.

In this position you are part of the Education and Student Affairs (ESA) Team of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (CE&C). The ESA team is responsible for all educational support (Bachelor's and Master's) of the faculty. Behind the scenes, we take care of a coordinated curriculum and timetable, evaluation and quality assurance, policy and the admission of prospective students.

Job Description

As a Chemical Engineering and Chemistry (CE&C) teacher, you will contribute to excellent education in highly valued CE&C programs at the frontiers of science where the lines between chemistry and other disciplines merge. You will contribute to enabling TU/e vision on education by applying modern didactic methods and instructional techniques in teaching laboratory skills and Challenge based education. You have high quality standards and a proactive attitude.
As a CE&C teacher, you can expect a very inspiring job with the following various tasks:

  • You are responsible for setting up, developing, coordinating and executing Laboratory and CBL education.
  • You are responsible for hiring and training student assistants who assist teachers in Laboratory and CBL education.
  • You coordinate various educational activities and ensure good coordination between lecturers, researchers and educational support.
  • You guide learning processes (including in the role of mentor and coach) and thus contribute to the professional growth of the students.
  • You are responsible for setting up proper regulations for a safe and proper use of education labs in the Helix building.
  • You advice the program director about optimal use of resources when setting up laboratory and CBL education.
  • You advice the program director on expertise building of laboratory supporting staff who are involved in education.

Job requirements

We are looking for an enthusiastic lecturer who can provide appealing and activating laboratory and CBL education and motivate students.

  • You preferably have completed a PhD in Chemical Engineering/ Chemistry.
  • You have experience in teaching and the ambition to develop further in academic education.
  • You have the ability and ambition to offer excellent education.
  • You enjoy coaching students both individually and in groups.
  • You are in the possession of the University Teaching Qualification1 or are willing to obtain the qualification within 2 years.
  • You are a team player but can also work independently.
  • You have excellent communication skills, both in Dutch and English.
