The Faculty of Sport Science seeks to fill the above professorship from 1 April 2022:
We are looking for an internationally recognised scholar to represent the field of nutrition in sports, conducting research and lecturing in experimental and applied aspects of the field.
Applicants will be expected to address not only performance-oriented but also health-related issues of nutrition in a sporting context, whereby a broad reference to metabolic and adaptation processes as well as dietary supplements and their system-biological effects should be developed. For this purpose, applicants should have sound expertise in the natural sciences, ensuring interdisciplinary compatibility both within and outside the Faculty. Relevant national/international publications in recognised journals, experience in raising external funding, and a willingness to take on tasks in academic self-administration are expected. Applicants should be able to make a valuable contribution to at least one of Leipzig University’s strategic research fields.
The appointee will be in charge of lecturing in sports nutrition science on the study programmes offered by the Faculty of Sport Science. A record of teaching excellence and English-language teaching experience are expected.
Applicants must have completed an habilitation or hold equivalent academic qualifications.
The job holder’s rights and obligations are regulated by the Saxon Freedom of Higher Education Act (SächsHSFG) and the Saxon Service Regulations for Higher Education Institutions (DAVOHS). Applicants must meet the requirements of Sect. 58 SächsHSFG.
